This course provides instruction in the broad field of horticulture with emphasis on the scientific and technical knowledge for a career in horticulture. Topics in this course include plant growth and development, plant nutrition, media selection, basic plant identification, pest management, customer relations, career development and leadership development. Skills in biology, chemistry, and algebra are reinforced in this course. This course will offer hands on learning activities using the facilities available. The FFA and FFA Leadership activities are integral components of the course.
